Agricultural Science Textbooks is an application that contains theory about basic agriculture. Agriculture in general can be referred to as the science of agriculture. When you think about agricultural science, what comes to your mind? The first word may be about flowers, fruits, medicinal plants, protected trees, organic fertilizers, plant fertilizers and others.
We will discuss about basic agricultural science. This application will completely discuss the science of agriculture. Agriculture is the practice of cultivating plants and livestock. Agriculture was the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that enabled people to live in cities. The history of agriculture began thousands of years ago. After gathering wild grains beginning at least 105,000 years ago, nascent farmers began to plant them around 11,500 years ago. Pigs, sheep, and cattle were domesticated over 10,000 years ago. Plants were independently cultivated in at least 11 regions of the world. Industrial agriculture based on large-scale monoculture in the twentieth century came to dominate agricultural output, though about 2 billion people still depended on subsistence agriculture.
Besides agriculture, this application will also discuss about agronomy. Agronomy is the science and technology of producing and using plants by agriculture for food, fuel, fiber, chemicals, recreation, or land conservation. Agronomy has come to include research of plant genetics, plant physiology, meteorology, and soil science.
This topic of agronomy involves selective breeding of plants to produce the best crops for various conditions. Plant breeding has increased crop yields and has improved the nutritional value of numerous crops, including corn, soybeans, and wheat. It has also resulted in the development of new types of plants. For example, a hybrid grain named triticale was produced by crossbreeding rye and wheat. Triticale contains more usable protein than does either rye or wheat. Agronomy has also been instrumental for fruit and vegetable production research. Additionally, for development turfgrass, the use of plant breeding has in reduction of the need for fertilizer and water inputs (requirements) as well as turf-types which show increased resistance to diseases.
