Welcome to Blackjack, a card game where the classic 21 game (also known as vingt-un) comes alive on your device. Blackjack is a modified or renamed version of the British "twenty-one," which was inspired by the European game vingt-un.

Vingt-un (Twenty-one) originated in Europe and has been enjoyed there for centuries. As its popularity grew, the game was introduced to America. Initially, during its introduction, a special payout was offered for a Blackjack hand (a Jack of Spades or Clubs and an Ace), with odds as high as 10x. While these payouts are no longer in place, this is where vingt-un got its modern name, Blackjack.

Blackjack is a casino-style comparing game played against the dealer rather than against other players.

Objective of the Game
The player's goal is to reach 21 points without exceeding it. Number cards carry their face value, Aces can count as 1 or 11, and face cards (J, Q, K) are valued at 10. Players are free to "hit" (draw a card) or "stand" (hold their total) at any point, but the dealer must hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 or more.
If the player wins, they receive a 1x payout (original bet + an additional equal amount). If the player wins with a Blackjack (21 on the first two cards), the payout is 1.5x. This odds system helps players recover what they may have previously lost.

Game Design and Development
The game features an intuitive interface designed with Figma, focusing on user experience. To make this one of the best Blackjack games, we've included convenient options like repeating bets and doubling bets—a common strategy for recovering initial losses.

The initial wireframes and concepts were developed on Penpot by our developer, but these early designs were rough and conceptual. Once the game reached a playable state, it was redesigned in Figma. Version 2.0.0 introduced a refreshed design by our designer, Shrijal Khayargoli, marking his debut game project.

Our game uses assets from the Figma community, music from Unminus.com, and sound effects from Pixabay.

Technology Stack
The game was developed using Defold, a highly versatile game engine. We’d like to extend our thanks to the Defold team for providing such a robust tool, along with the many external libraries and resources integrated into the engine. Defold’s efficiency allowed us to focus on delivering an excellent experience without compromising performance or quality.
