An Efed that emphasises the classic side of professional wrestling. Classic Wrestling is based on a concept that the 80’s style never died! In fact kayfabe was never broken, and as far as the world goes, wrestling is still as legitimate as boxing, martial arts, and other fighting sports.
For fans of “Old School Rasslin”, we’re trying to include many of the things you see when you turn back the clock to watch the “Golden Era”. We’re going to try to mix elements of realism and sport much like the NWA or Crockett Promotions would have done, and we’re also going to accept over the top gimmicks, and characters like the WWF would have had in that era as well.
The exciting part will be blending the 80s style into 2021 and creating a unique fed unlike many out there today. Classic Wrestling will be a “Micro Roleplay Fed”. This means we will base all match outcomes on the evaluation of your promos. As far as the “Micro” side of it, we are planning on having a hard cap on Promos/Roleplays of 750 words and one promo per match.
We will be a biweekly promotion, with a television show happening every two weeks and a PPV sized event happening four times a year! We’re going to put the focus on short promos and fun.
What sets Classic Wrestling apart?
No Breaking Kayfabe – We’re living in a world where no one’s ever revealed that Wrestling is “entertainment”. Your wrestler here is expected to live by this rule. All wrestlers will be IC at all times. We will have our own form of Social Media known as “The Hotline!” Where wrestlers can post shorter items that feel similar to social media. If we feel your wrestler broke kayfabe, they would be released.
No RL Character Development – This kind of goes hand in hand with the above note about Kayfabe, but this will not be a fed where you explore the depths of real life issues with your characters. We don’t want to hear about them “off screen” at all. If anything it should be how their “character” is evolving. Not the person behind it.
80s Feel – From the graphics, to the website, to the way the shows are written. We’re going for a fully 80s vibe. We’re not going to have the sexiest look, we’re going to have a retro look, and we’re excited about it.
Modern Day Restrictions – To be more in line with the 80s style and feel we will not be accepting some of the more “Modern” items in wrestling. This includes but is not limited to Pic Bases, Movesets,Theme Songs and Intergender Wrestling. Your wrestler will have a limited moveset that’s more appropriate with the time. Gone will be 450 splashes, F5’s, as well as the more cooperative moves.
True Micro Fed – The MAX length on the promos will be 750 words. The match length on TV shows will be about the same. “Studio Shows” will have summarized results, with the four big PPVS having full match results.
Lack Of Gimmick Matches – Wrestling has historically been one on one matches. We’re going to stick with that. We don’t see the reason to add a gimmick to a match that isn’t high stakes, or the blow off to a long feud. There will be no gimmick matches happening on television, and typically there may be one per PPV if it’s warranted. Otherwise we’re not doing shock value for shock value sake. Just because you have a vacant title, doesn’t mean you HAVE to have a ladder match.
