Coordinate is a data collection app that facilitates the organization of samples into grids. Coordinate is based on defining templates and then collecting data in grids created from those templates. Two templates are included by default: Seed Tray and DNA Plate.
Templates are highly customizable: custom fields for grid metadata collection can be created; naming for rows and columns can be alphabetic or numeric; and specific or random cells can be excluded from data collection. All collected data is saved internally to the database and grids can be reloaded to continue collecting data or deleted if not needed.
Coordinate is part of the broader PhenoApps initiative, an effort to modernize plant breeding and genetics data collection and organization via by developing new strategies and tools for data capture.
Development of Coordinate has been supported by the Collaborative Crop Research Program of The McKnight Foundation (http://ccrp.org/) and the National Science Foundation under Grant No. (1543958).
