The Corfiot dictionary refers to words used in the Corfiot dialect since the first Venetian period up until the unification of the Ionian Islands with Greece.
Introduction by Stamatis Kuriakis: “This work was done with the belief that we need to continue the effort to record today of what has been and what is still alive and known of our old language.
We tried to focus our attention to words used by Corfiots in their daily language usage before the unification of the Ionian Islands with Greece and adaptation in Greek language.
The words included in the dictionary are mainly words that have been incorporated and used in the language of Corfu from the late middle Ages until the unification of Corfu with Greece.”
The content is only available in Greek.
The collection, editorial process and loving of Stamatis Kuriakis led to the creation of the content of the Corfiot dictionary (http://linguacorfiotta.blogspot.gr/), while its migration in a relational database management system as well as to a android mobile application was done by Creative Web Applications P.C. (http://cwa.gr/) with chief engineer Petros Gasteratos (http://www.cwa.gr/people/petros) on the helm.
