However, in 1904 St. Louis World's Fair achieved national fame when the New York Tribune discovered the hamburger as "a food vendor's novelty on a pike". No objective argument has sufficed to end the dispute over invention. An ABC News article sums it up: "One problem is that there is minimal written history. Another is that the burger spread is largely procured at the World's Fair, from small vendors who come and go. And that's entirely at the same time in different parts of the country. There is a possibility that more than one person may have thought of it."
