VisiScript is a free and comfortable cross platform text editor for programmers with IDE features and a graphical frontend for script and programming languages like JavaScript/QScript, Python, Ruby, Perl and others.
With this code editor one can read, modify, save and execute script files. For the execution of the scripts VisiScript uses the build-in QScript (JavaScript) interpreter or external script interpreters like Python, Ruby, Perl and others. The external script interpreters are not delivered with this application. Some script interpreters are supported by the VisiScript Extensions application (see below). The output of the script is shown in an output area below the script editor area.
Features of the code editor are:
★ syntax highlighting for many programming languages (C/C++, C#, D, Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP, Pascal, Fortran, Lua, Scheme, Lisp, Haskell, CoffeeScript, Tcl, Nim, SQL, HTML, XML, YAML, Tex, VHDL, Spice, Matlab, Octave, Postscript, po, properties, cmake, diff, bash)
★ Undo/Redo
★ Find/Replace
★ Macros
★ Multiple documents in tabs
★ Project files
★ Encodings: utf-8 and latin-1
★ Code folding
★ Auto indent
★ Brace matching
★ Comment/uncomment blocks
★ Autocomplete
★ Execute scripts
★ Debugging support for build in QScript/JavaScript interpreter (only for tablets)
For advanced functions (navigate in source code, find in files, encrypt files, graphical output and debugger support for Python and minscript) and aditional script interpreters (minscript, Lua, Python, Haskell/Hugs, Scheme/Scheme48, newLisp) use the VisiScriptExtensions module: https://www.google.com/url?q=https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mneuroth.visiscriptextensions
VisiScript is especially useful on tablets and with external keyboards for writing texts and programs.
VisiScript is implemented with Qt and uses the QScintilla library. VisiScript is available for ARM and x86 architecture.
VisiScript is released under the GPL. The sources and binary packages for other platforms (Windows, MacOS and Linux) could be found on the VisiScript homepage http://www.mneuroth.de/projects/Visiscript.html
Recent changes:
* Added support for sharing files for android (sending and receiving)
* Improved file dialog for android: using now storage access framework for access to sd card
* Bugfix: measurement of script execution time flag was not handled correctly
* Fixed problem with upgrading from version 0.6.1 (cleaning of data not needed after update)
* Fixed path for files directory
