"Let us pray to the Lord in peace," the first petition of various litanies in St. John Chrysostom and St. Basil the Great's Divine Liturgies, essentially instructs us to put our worries aside and talk with God in prayer. Prayer provides spiritual nourishment for our entire being. Prayer provides spiritual nourishment for our entire being. Through that intimate'soul to Spirit' interaction, prayer allows us to preserve a personal relationship with our loving God. Prayer softens our hearts, allowing us to be more receptive to God's will. We may see where we have been, where we are, and where we need to aim our steps in order to walk in God's Way when we pray.
